The
California Geological Survey on its 150th anniversary has released an updated version of a fault map along with an updated version of a rock and soil map.
The maps are available as interactive Google Maps.... dare I say ...mashups?
The idea is that knowledge of the location and types of faults will guide decisions on where to build and on construction standards.
